Prevention

This page offers links to the Preventive Health Recommendations Guideline and supporting material. Dates refer to the date the material or link was posted by CCGC.

The CCGC Prevention Guideline is based on U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendations intended for primary care settings. Recommendations of other professional organizations may vary from USPSTF recommendations. CCGC chose USPSTF because it is an independent group that conducts rigorous, impartial assessments of the effectiveness of a wide variety of clinical preventive services using a standardized approach. The guideline is designed to assist clinicians in providing priority preventive services based on the evidence for each service. However, clinical decision making may require consideration of other issues in addition to the evidence. Thus, this guideline is not intended to replace clinical judgment for any individual patient.
